The Department of Sport and Recreation is the lead agency responsible for the implementation of government policy and initiatives in sport and recreation.
A key role of the department is to contribute to the healthy lifestyle of Western Australians by increasing physical activity in the community through sport and recreation.
Sport 4 All
Sport 4 All is a four-year, $20 million project to increase participation in community sport and recreation throughout Western Australia. This program will help 30,000 disadvantaged WA children to join a sport or recreation club. More on Sport 4 All.
KidSport
Enabling WA children to participate in community sport and recreation, no matter their financial circumstances.
Environmental Sustainability Pack
Providing information on environmental issues currently facing sporting organisations and clubs within Western Australia and to equip them with the tools and skills necessary to reduce their environmental impact.
Strategic Directions 5
WA’s sport and recreation industry has been guided by three to five-year strategic directions since 1997, giving the industry a framework in which to operate and develop. It has also guided State Government decision-making and funding directions and has been the catalyst for the achievement of a range of industry outcomes.

The Department of Sport and Recreation provides four fantastic recreational camps situated around the greater Perth area.

The Department of Sport and Recreation provides services across Western Australia through nine regional areas and 11 regional offices.
